Increased productivity for local and export markets

A sub-recipient to NCBA/CLUSA, Land O’Lakes strengthened participants’ competitiveness in local and export markets and improved milk quality. In partnership with the Zambia Dairy Processors Association, PROFIT improved veterinary services and helped farmers conserve forage. This USAID-funded program reached 300,000 smallholder and emergent farmers, and increased productivity by over 300 percent. PROFIT’s partners, including WFP, provided 14,000 schoolchildren with milk. As part of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), Land O’Lakes worked with local food processors to create highly nutritious foods for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV).
