Boosting agricultural productivity and expanding trade of fruits and vegetables in Malawi
MSIKA is a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) funded Food for Progress program (FFP). In collaboration with TechnoServe, Michigan State University and Partners in Food Solutions, MSIKA is facilitating improved processing, increased crop productivity and improved post-harvest handling and storage. MSIKA is also supporting market linkages between farmers and processors to make domestic trade more efficient and increase future export opportunities.
To boost agricultural productivity in the fruit and vegetable sector, MSIKA is enabling access to finance,
improving infrastructure to support on-farm production and training farmers on improved agricultural
techniques and technologies. MSIKA is working to enable linkages between buyers and sellers and
improving market and trade infrastructure.
