Area of Practice:
Market Access

Smallholders often operate in challenging, isolated environments, limiting their access to tools, information and markets.

By developing ecosystems that better allow smallholders access to markets, we are creating inclusive growth to increase profitability and improve food security. Private sector-driven models are a hallmark of our approach. We work with both small and large businesses and facilitate linkages that create value between and amongst input suppliers, buyers, food processors and farmers.

We also help develop businesses – including farms, cooperatives, producer associations and commercial out-grower schemes to strengthen capacity to meet supply and demand. We promote access to new information, innovative technologies and business support services.
